Female team member can’t play in Kōshien

- Being the captain of the baseball team at Shimonoseki Chuo Kogyo High School in Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture–a semifinalist in the summer 2005 prefectural tournament–doesn’t protect Sunao Iwakawa, 18, from being benched during official games. She has to sit out games for one very important reason–she is female.

Not to put too fine a point on it…but Shimonoseki Kogyo is located in Shimonoseki City…and Shimonoseki City is in Prime Minister Abe’s district.
