Posted by Matt Dioguardi on July 4th, 2007

Fight against copyright pirates gets tough
    -
With the increase in the piracy of movies, music, TV programs and game software has come an increase in efforts from both the public and private sectors in thwarting such profiteers. On the public side comes an improved Copyright Law and a new law to ban the recording of movies at screenings. Movie premieres held in central Tokyo are usually accompanied by long lines of moviegoers. These lines are an unfortunate necessity as everybody must be checked to make sure they are not trying to sneak in video cameras. Screening organizers have become more vigilant about this as video taken secretly at theaters often are sold as pirated DVDs or distributed online.
